I am an Advisory Board member of the NIH Roadmap PubChem project.
From 2000 - 2006 I was a consultant to and a contributing editor of specialzed databases for Chemindustry.com.
From 2000 - 2002 I was a strategic planner for MDL Information Systems.
I receieved my BS in Chemistry from
SUNY-Stony Brook
and my PhD in Chemistry from
Georgetown University .
I was member of the editorial board of the all electronic
journal: the
Internet Journal of Chemistry from 1197-2004 and
from 1995 - 1997.
I was editor of the Elsevier Trends in
Analytical Chemistry (TrAC) Internet computer
column.
I am the founder/creator/originator of the NIH/EPA/NIST Mass Spec database, the NIH/EPA CIS (Chemical Information System), the SciWords series of scientific spell checkers, the International Plant & Animal Genome conferences, and the IUPAC InChI project (mentioned above).

I am married (picture)
to Shelly
Heller and have have three sons, Josh,
Adam,
and Matt .
Josh is a board certified
ER doctor. His grandparents are very proud of
him.
Adam graduated from GW Law School and is a lawyer and sells 100% mangosteen juice on the side.
Matt has a Masters degree from GW in telecommunications and is a computer systems operations and computer security specialist.
All three are happily married and each has two children.
I have a few pictures of myself and some acquaintances - Al, Alice, Jason, Tom, Orrin, and Bill.
My hobbies include tennis, stamps, flying, (my current co-pilot is Nate) and sushi.
